«ÊTRE CHICHE DE» is being able to do something, having a taste for challenge.
CHICHE is a Lyon start-up born from the meeting between two passionate about good food, Adeline CADILLON and Coralie HONAJZER.
In 2015, Adeline, an agronomist by training, studied the benefits of pulse crops on soils (used to naturally fertilize soils by adding nitrogen). She realizes that the market outlets for chickpeas, beans, lentils and other pulses are almost nonexistent in France.
Specialized in marketing, Coralie is passionate about the project and decides to develop an offer likely to open a market. They launched the CHICHE concept in early 2017: gourmet, innovative recipes ready to eat organic and French pulses. This is why they decide to develop a first range of grilled chickpeas coated with spices for the aperitif and chocolate for the dessert and the snack.
Pending the establishment of agricultural sectors in the Rhône-Alpes region, the company sources raw materials in the South West of France. It is in Belleville-en-Beaujolais (69) that these products have been developed, transformed and marketed by a team of seven people since 2018, in the workshop of the start-up.
