Biodiversity In search of the best soils for production, DANTE actively invests in the renovation of old abandoned vineyards in the heart of Tuscany.
The project is in progress and the goal is to extend it to other areas, in parallel with the inclusion of other Italian single-varieties in the DANTE range. The entire crafted production process is designed to be in balance with the environment; from cultivation without pesticides to a zero-emission process from harvesting to bottling. Moreover, by focusing exclusively on autochthonous single-varieties, the production aims to maintain the biodiversity that is specific to the territory.
The choice of cultivating only original Italian grapes brings the lands of cultivation and harvesting back to their pre-industrial conditions. These choices, contrary to the logic of exploiting the environment and having immediate economic profit, represent Dante’s best investment in the future.
In fact, respecting the biological diversity of the vine is the best way to value the extraordinary Italian wine heritage, increasingly threatened by agriculture’s industrialisation and climate change.
