Nestled in the woods of Saint-Brice, the house Dâme (formerly Dame de Pique) was created in 2016 by Romuald Vincent in order to revive and enhance local spirits made from wild plants, which were then endangered.
Its flagship production: the black thorn vein is a liqueur wine unique in the world made from wild prunes according to an original recipe developed by his grandfather Christian, a former Rémy Martin, more than 50 years ago.
The house also offers a range of local vermouths: the Elixirs de la Dame, each rich in twenty medicinal wild plants also native to the commune and this time making the most of the cultivation of the abbey's canons; the building is only a hundred metres away, in the heart of the harvesting area.
In 2019, Le Maître-Liquoriste continues his work focused on simple medicinal medicines by imagining this time an innovative technique of aromatic extraction, which culminates a year later in the creation of Djin, the first French spirit without alcohol, which is quickly acclaimed by the world of the French bar for which it was originally designed.
This spirit-of-plants, which is consumed in the manner of a gin, offers a serious and qualitative alternative to all those who do not want or cannot drink alcohol.
When he's not in his studio working on new creations, you can meet Romuald during his seasonal pickings in the village woods, or he'll be sure to tell you one of the many local legends, if your heart tells you!
