Pievuccia is part of a movement of small vineyards; we produce about 15.000 to 20.000 bottles annually, sold mostly here directly in our shop; the rest is exported and distributed in local restaurants.
We practice sustainable viticulture, a reality that helps to solve problems in all working processes through eco-friendly solutions: no pure monoculture but cover crops and endemic flower population; the soils are enriched with bacteria, microbe and fungus through the use of compost and farmyard manure; the variety of insects and arthropod are increased and, with them, the biodiversity.
We are more farm than factory: Riccardo (the farmer), his tractor and a few friends who come to help at harvest time, all in harmony with the land around us. We make wine by finding the beauty of the vintage, finding its personality.
Since 2011, La Pievuccia has been a part of “Biohotels“, an association of hotels that offer a truly green, eco- friendly hotel experience for guests who value sustainability. This brings guests who share a common love and passion for our same ideals, helping us to offer an always improving hospitality.
